Chao'an District, Chaozhou, Guangdong. Chaozhou has fired ceramics for a thousand years; Kelida has mixed glazes here since 1986.
Kelida started as a colour and glaze workshop supplying other potteries in Chaozhou. It was incorporated in 2001 and for fifteen years its business was glaze: bone-china glazes, crystal, matte, metallic and crackle finishes. In 2016 the company turned that knowledge on its own objects, took a new name and built out casting, finishing and firing under one roof.
Today the factory casts vases, candle holders, incense holders, figurines, tissue boxes and canisters for importers and retailers in North America, Europe and Asia, and exports under its own licence and its own name.

Glaze workshop opens in Chaozhou, mixing colour and glaze for local potteries.
Chaozhou Kelida Glaze Co., Ltd. is incorporated on 17 October.
Kelida trademark registered for glazes and ceramic colours.
Turn to finished ware. Renamed Chaozhou Kelida Ceramics; own moulds, own kilns.
Domestic wholesale begins; the range grows to several hundred designs.
Own export licence and international storefront. Kelida device mark registered.
Patent application for a wear-resistant ceramic glaze is published.

Most of the range ships from 12 pieces per design, and cartons can be mixed across designs and colours so a first order can test a shelf rather than fill a warehouse.
